Denver’s Access Housing was established in 1983, and over the past 30+ years, has offered families in need with emergency shelter, transitional housing, case management and support, and a path to success and self-sufficiency. A re-branding project was proposed as part of a campaign to re-organize and establish forward momentum for the organization. The group is undergoing a period of major transition, and the brand’s previous identity no longer reflected the organization’s reaffirmed commitment to excellence and progress.

The Access Housing Re-branding Process
The re-branding project focused on communicating the brand’s key drivers of connectedness, sincerity, reliability, cheerfulness, and a family-oriented atmosphere. Communicating and collaborating with key brand stakeholders, Ripley Studios served as a creative director for the project. Using a vibrant color palette, Ripley Studios met the project’s primary goal of creating a brand identity that would communicate the brand’s core values in a way that resonates with the organization’s key audiences. After developing the brand’s logo, Ripley Studios fleshed out the brand’s materials using their new identity system, including applications for letterhead, business cards, promotional media, and various other items.

Event trade dress and branding are important parts of design for non-profits. They allow organizations like Access Housing to reach their donor bases, and connect with the people they serve.
